Help & Usage Guide
Last updated: January 2025Quick Start
Tile Solver finds every valid English word that can be formed from your scrambled letters. It's designed for Scrabble, Words With Friends, crossword puzzles, and anagram solving.
Enter your letters
Type the scrambled letters into the input box. Letters are case-insensitive. Spaces and non-letter characters are automatically ignored.
Click "Unscramble"
Press the button or hit Enter. Results appear instantly, sorted by Scrabble score by default.
Use your words
Click the copy icon on any card to copy that word. Use "Copy All" to copy every result, or "Export" to download a text file.
Wildcards
Use ? as a wildcard to represent any single letter. This is ideal when you have a blank tile in Scrabble or are unsure of one letter in a crossword.
Examples:
- CA?E → finds cage, cake, cane, cape, care, case, cave…
- ?UIZZ → finds buzz, fuzz, jazz, quiz…
- SCR??BLE → finds all words with two unknown letters
You can use up to 3 wildcards per search. Each ? represents a blank that can be any letter of the alphabet.
Filter Options
Open the Filters panel to narrow results. All filters work together:
Word Length
Set minimum and maximum word length. Default is 2–15. Useful for finding 7-letter Scrabble bingos or short crossword fills.
Starts With
Filter words that begin with specific letters. Example: un for words starting with "un".
Ends With
Filter words that end with specific letters. Example: ing for present participles.
Contains
Filter words that contain a specific substring anywhere. Example: tion for words with that suffix.
Scrabble Scoring
Each word displays its total Scrabble point value. Individual letter scores are shown on each tile:
Words labelled ★ Rare contain high-value letters (J, Q, X, Z) or have a total score of 15+ points. These are worth targeting in Scrabble or Words With Friends.
Sort Options
- Scrabble Score (default) — highest-scoring words first. Best for Scrabble strategy.
- Word Length — longest words first. Useful for crosswords with a fixed letter count.
- A–Z — alphabetical order. Easier to browse or share with others.
